tânisi nitôtêmwak!

My name is Rhys McAlpine. I am an Indigenous photographer based in Saskatchewan. I am Plains Cree from the Cowessess First Nation. My love of photography started when I received a digital camera for my 15th birthday. I enjoy capturing the beauty of nature that surrounds me in the rolling prairies from radiant sunsets to fantastical aurora borealis shows, I find the most comfort being outdoors. I also coach figure skating, winter is my favourite season and lucky for me it’s the longest season in Saskatchewan! I graduated with a diploma in Professional Photography from Willis College in 2022.

In my free time I can be found spending time with my fianceé and our cats, watching movies, reading or playing video games.
